In May, Anb Arena (ex. The Venue) will host the fight Saul Alvarez vs. William Scull

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will put his WBA, WBC and WBO super middleweight titles on the line against William Scull in Riyadh. Alvarez held the undisputed super middleweight title, but the IBF stripped Alvarez of his belt in July 2024 after Canelo failed to make a mandatory defense against Scull. Scull (23-0, nine KOs) won the vacant title in October with a decision win over Vladimir Shishkin. Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) is coming off a decision win over Edgar Berlanga in September to defend his WBA, WBC, WBO and The Ring super middleweight titles.

If Canelo defeats Scull, he will be set for another marquee fight with fellow fourth-division champion Terence Crawford, with the undisputed super middleweight crown definitely on the line. That fight is set to headline the mega-event of the season in Riyadh, which takes place Sept. 13 with Allegiant Stadium serving as the target venue for Las Vegas. Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) is the No. 3 pound-for-pound fighter in the Ring and the No. 1 junior middleweight.

Scull is the No. 5 contender at super middleweight by The Ring, an undefeated but relatively unknown contender from Cuba who has quietly moved up to 168 pounds. Scull, 31, has a significant number of knockouts in his fights, although he has yet to face elite competition at the world level. Fighting out of Germany, Scull is a slick, big fighter who would be a tough matchup against the great Canelo. Scull is ranked No. 8 by ESPN. Additionally, Alvarez has never fought outside of North America, so fighting in Saudi Arabia will be a new experience for him. With a deal in place, Alvarez will fight at least three more times this season in Riyadh. He is scheduled to fight Crawford on September 13 in Las Vegas, and next year plans to have two fights in Riyadh in February and October.

Tickets to the Anb Arena (ex. The Venue) are a chance to see which of the two athletes will emerge as champion.
